The Royal Hotel (Formerly Harleys) is now open and has been extensively refurbished. The mural is one of a series depicting a Welsh folk tale, and is just part of the impressive new decor.  There is also a beer garden, games room, full sized snooker table, a comfortable relaxation area and restaurant. Besides meals of a high standard, bar snacks are also served.  Good hospitality and food in surprisingly pleasant surroundings (for those who remember Harley's).

George III Hotel Penmaenpool, 01341422525 Over the Mawddach estuary via the toll bridge or through Dolgellau when bridge is closed. Wonderful riverside location with character interior. Highly rated food to match. Occasional high quality entertainment.

Hendre Mynach Hall Hotel. Llanaber Road, Barmouth.  Large public bar, large good quality bar meals served. (Children's portions available) Regular live entertainment including the Country Kittens, and lively Karaokes. Transport to and from Hendre Mynach camp site in season.

Maes Artro, Living History Museum. 01341 241467 The bar is open till 11, though most of exhibits are closed at this time, which is just as well, as this is supposed to be one of the most haunted places in Wales.  Hot and cold food served, and there is regular entertainment sometimes 40's , 50's, 60's, 70's, dances, bands, karaokes.

Min y Mor Hotel, Seafront Hotel with public bar and concert room with dance floor. Live entertainment including country music and line dancing.  Good food also.

Sandancer  Barmouths only nightclub and now much improved and a non smoking environment. Open Friday and Saturday , till 2am, other nights as advertised. A range of entertainment including 70s and 80's, mowtown, soul and reggae  nights, also teenage discos. 

Sands Cabaret Bar, Talybont. 01341 247771 Part of Sands Leisure Complex near Talybont beach. Plenty of good entertainment here, regular tribute bands (Bay City Rollers Thurs 28 July, Roy Chubby Brown Fri 29 July, Meatloaf Thurs 4 August, Freddy Mercury Thurs 11 August), Food served also. Family room open in main holiday periods.

Talydon Hotel, St Annes Square, Barmouth. 280508 Has changed a lot since it was my grandparents local. Still a good pub with quality food and pleasant outside area.  Occasional entertainment.

Ty Mawr Hotel, LLanbedr. 01341 241440  Family run hotel with public bar, restaurant and gardens. Occasional live entertainment and Karaoke.

Victoria Inn, LLanbedr. Situated right by Llanbedr bridge, pub with good reputation for food, riverside garden and playground.

Wayside Inn, Llanaber.   01341 280200 Situated on the main road between Barmouth and Talybont, good views across the bay, food served and also a chip shop takeaway in main holiday period.

Ysgethyn Inn, Talybont  01341 247578  Riverside pub just upstream of Talybont bridge.  With restaurant, gardens and children's play area.
