Next one is scheduled for Friday 6th June.

BMEX (Barmouth Music experience) supports the development of young local musicians, providing a safe rehearsal environment, performance opportunities and  a superb Mackie 2.5k PA system.  The Buffs Club is  the venue for BMEX gigs on the last Friday of the month.and these gigs offer a variety of music from acoustic to thrash metal.  Next one is notFriday 30 May but a wek earlier and will feature DJ PROVE IT and excellent original  rock band  Inferno who are a fine band by any standards.  The March gig was  part of the Dream Love Cure European tour featuring Void Illusion, Presence of Mind, and Pure Sound Art, also Harlot Farm and Fibonacci.  BMEX gig  on 29 February with Stone Free, and Inferno was also a memorable night.  Click for brief review including videos. There are live music sessions  every Tuesday  evening at the Last Inn near the harbour.  These nights provide a good opportunity for networking amongst local musicians, and the variety of music played is very wide, from traditional folk to rock and jazz.  Even the Welsh Elvis has been known to drop in.

The  Crown often have entertainment on Friday nights as do the Royal, the Talydon and the Royal usually put something on Saturday nights.

The Harbour Funday has undoubtedly been one of the highlights of the year.  Gordon Giltrap topped the bill  on the music stage on Saturday August 18.  Other acts included Run Dog Run and Mojo Jojo again, Dangerous Age, Band Arrall, and on Sunday, Night Owl, Chris Knowles and the Cantorion Endwyn  choir. My Favourite Runners Up represented BMeX, who also provided the PA. This event It has now outgrown its quayside venue.  We hope to have news of a new Mawddach Festival at a new venue soon.

Welcome back Mark Stratos, who has been very ill but is now gigging again. His bluesy guitar playing is still of a very high standard and he has a voice to match.
